NBCC board approves 1:2 bonus issue, fixes record date

The board has set October 7 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for receiving bonus shares. The bonus shares will be issued from free reserves created from profits, as per the audited financial statements for the year ending March 2024. The company has reserves and surplus amounting to Rs 1,959 crore available for capitalization. PSU stocks: PSU stocks fall, Cochin Shipyard, Bharat Dynamics worst hit by up to 10%

The index ended nearly 16% lower on Tuesday as the Narendra Modi-led BJP failed to secure a simple majority on its own and would have to piggyback on allies to form the government. As of 9:45 am today, all the constituent stocks of the index were trading in red. The 500-stock index which gained 2.1% on the week-on-week basis saw smallcap Aegis Logistics holding the top spot with nearly 30% returns. It was followed by multibaggers MOIL, Cochin Shipyard and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, who delivered between 21% and 27% returns. Notwithstanding high volatility over the week, the BSE 500 index outperformed the headline BSE S&P Sensex with the latter gaining 0.90% (642 points) on a weekly basis. Markets fell on Friday breaking their five-session winning streak.
