Budget 2025: Will ITC shares Budget day winning streak survive tax hike uncertainty?

Image
[hfe_template id='11223'] [ad_1] India’s Union Budget has historically been a favourable occasion for ITC shares, with the cigarettes-to-hotels conglomerate's stock closing higher on nine of the last ten Budget days, averaging a 1.86% gain since 2017. The only exception to this trend came in 2020, when the stock plunged 6.97% after an unexpected increase in National Calamity Contingent Duty (NCCD) on cigarettes. However, the stock rebounded in su...

Why Nirmala Sitharaman should not go for any big-bang changes in Budget

Image
[hfe_template id='11223'] [ad_1] Today when I write this column, it is slightly more than a month ago when election results were announced. After the initial hiccups, the markets stabilized once the signs of a stable government at the centre became brighter.
