Asian stocks edge up, US futures erase losses on China trade talks

Hong Kong, China shares bounce on chip rally, potential state support

The tech subindex climbed 3%. Chipmakers were among the biggest winners, with Hua Hong Semiconductor rallying as much as 20% and peer SMIC climbing more than 9%. On the mainland, the Shanghai Composite Index and the blue-chip CSI 300 Index also reversed losses to climb 0.6% and 0.5% respectively.
