European shares slip as investors assess earnings; Fed meet in focus

European shares hits a weekly decline as tariff worries persist

The pan-European STOXX 600 index ended 0.7% lower and was down 1.4% for the week, its worst week since December 16. A report showed the core U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures index, the Federal Reserve's preferred gauge for prices, rose at a slightly faster monthly rate of 0.4%. "We're seeing some risk-off sentiment in the market. Today it's been exacerbated by that stronger core PCE data, which weighed mostly on U.S. stocks, but also translated into European stocks as well," Daniela Hathorn, senior market analyst at Capital.com, said.
