Sandip Sabharwal on Tesla’s India entry: M&M still a strong bet

Image
[hfe_template id='11223'] [ad_1] Despite concerns over Tesla’s entry into the Indian market, analysts believe that leading domestic automakers like Mahindra & Mahindra remain well-positioned to thrive. Speaking in an interaction with ET Now, market expert Sandip Sabharwal of asksandipsabharwal.com dismissed fears surrounding Tesla’s impact on Indian companies, calling the recent sell-off in auto stocks exaggerated and irrational. Sabharwal pointed out that homegrown auto giants like Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) continue to enjoy strong demand, despite concerns over Tesla’s entry. “The sell-off in these stocks started just a day after Mahindra’s new models received over Rs 8,000 crore in demand in a single day, which is completely irrational,” he noted. Tesla has announced its plans to set up a manufacturing facility in India, benefiting from duty concessions on its first 8,000 units if it commits to an investment of Rs 4,500 crore. While this has triggered nervo...

Limited downside? Nifty unlikely to touch 22,000: Geojit’s Anand James

Image
[hfe_template id='11223'] [ad_1] Given the flattish range last week, Nifty's downside may not extend all the way to 22,000, says Anand James, Chief Market Strategist, Geojit Financial Services. "We feel that an upswing attempt could unfold, once in the 22,550-22,300 region." Edited excerpts from a chat: Nifty bears dashed hopes of a rebound in the week. How strong are the chances of the index falling below 22,000 in the next 2-3 weeks? A solid recovery from sub 22,800 levels last Monday masked the selling that unfolded through the rest of the week on every attempt to rise. We had gone in last week with the feeling that a large break down was imminent, but this was dodged through the week, despite multiple forays into the 22,800 vicinity. We feel that this has only served to delay the inevitable. However, given the flattish range last week, the downside break may not extend all the way to 22,000. We feel that an upswing attempt could unfold, once in the 22,5...
