KKR could deploy $20 billion in India over the next decade, says cofounder Henry Kravis

Japan and India have emerged as two of the largest markets outside of the US for leading investment firm KKR. With the Indian economy set to double every seven years, the firm’s senior leadership team expects both the private equity industry as well as the franchise will become a larger part of the capital structure of entrepreneurs and founders. Started in 1976, KKR, with $744 billion in AUM, has deployed more than $13 billion in India in the last 20 years. Of this, about $9 billion was committed in the last five years alone.
