GE Vernova T&D India shares jump over 10% after major HVDC contract win

Shares of GE Vernova T&D India jumped 10.2% to Rs 3,225 in Monday’s trading session after the company announced it had secured a major High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project. The company has been awarded a contract by AESL Projects Limited, a domestic entity, dated December 20, 2025. The order involves the design, supply, and execution of a 2,500 MW, ±500 kV HVDC Voltage Source Converter (VSC) terminal station, comprising two units of 1,250 MW each. This HVDC project will enable the evacuation of renewable power from KPS 3 (Khavda) to South Olpad, strengthening India’s renewable energy transmission infrastructure. HVDC VSC technology is critical for efficiently transmitting large volumes of renewable power over long distances with lower losses and improved grid stability.
