Mumbai: Indian markets posted their steepest single-day plunge in nine months after US President Donald Trump intensified the push to take over Greenland and threatened to impose tariffs on major European nations that oppose his move, adding to the nervousness over global economic and political stability. Risk-off sentiment in equities further boosted the allure of gold and silver, which extended their record-breaking rally on Tuesday, hitting new peaks. The NSE Nifty fell 353 points, or 1.4%, to close at 25,232.5, ending at its lowest since October 13.
