Indian real estate stocks faced sharp selling pressure this week, making them the biggest losers in the market as the BSE Realty benchmark index tumbled 9.4%, significantly underperforming the broader BSE Sensex, which declined 2.47%. Despite the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) recent rate cut aimed at boosting economic growth, realty stocks failed to find support, weighed down by global trade tensions, foreign investor outflows, and weak corporate earnings. The rout deepened on Friday, with the Nifty Realty Index closing 1.74% lower at 831.45. Phoenix Mills led the losses, falling 3.3% to hover near its 52-week low.
