Weekend trouble! Third working Saturday for stock market traders in 2024 this week

Stock exchanges NSE and BSE have decided to conduct a special live trading session tomorrow as part of a test to check whether the markets can function properly from a disaster recovery site in case the primary site is hit by a black swan event. Stock market timings on Saturday The special session, which will involve an intra-day switchover from the primary site to the disaster recovery site in equity and equity derivatives segments will be divided into two sessions. In the first session from the primary site, timings would be from 09:15 am till 10 am. Under the proposed bonus issue, investors of the unlisted company will get four shares for every share they hold as on the record date. The proposed bonus issue needs to be approved by the shareholders and regulator Sebi. A company issues bonus shares for their shareholders in order to increase the liquidity of the stock as well as to decrease its stock price thereby making it affordable for investors.
