KPI Green shares gain 4% on landmark deal with Botswana for renewable energy projects
Shares of KPI Green Energy rallied as much as 4.5% to their day’s high of Rs 437.40 on December 18 after KP Group announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Republic of Botswana to collaborate on the development of large-scale renewable energy generation, energy storage and transmission infrastructure.
“Under the MoU, KP Group and the Government of Botswana will work together to develop a host of renewable energy and infrastructure projects that would require capital investment of around $4 billion or Rs 36,000 crore”, the company said in a regulatory filing. KPI Green Energy shares have been on a weak run, slipping 24% in 2025. However, over the past 5 years, the stock has given tremendous returns of over 600%.
