With the record date for its 1:1 bonus share issuance set for tomorrow, January 31, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) shares are expected to garner significant attention in Thursday's trading session.

Therefore, the investors must purchase shares today to qualify for the aforementioned bonus issue.


“This is further to our previous letters dated December 10, 2024 and January 16, 2025 intimating the approval by the members for issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1: 1. In this regard, this is to inform that the Bonus Issue Committee has fixed Friday, January 31, 2025, as the "Record Date" to determine the eligibility of shareholders for issuance of the said Bonus,” said the company in its previous filing to the stock exchanges.

Additionally, the company will allot the said bonus shares to the entitled shareholders on February 3.


The record date is determined by the company to identify shareholders eligible for an offer. To qualify for a buyback, bonus issue, or stock split, shares must be held in the demat account on the record date.

Shareholders must purchase the stock at least one day before the ex-date to be eligible for these offers, as settlements are completed the following day. IGL bonus issue history
This is the first-ever instance where IGL is issuing bonus shares to its shareholders, according to Trendlyne.

IGL share price history
Over the past year, IGL share price has declined by 7.37%, while the last six months saw a significant drop of 28.74%. In the three-month period, the price decreased by 7.08%, and in the last month, there was a marginal decline of 0.58%.

IGL shares closed 2.2% higher at Rs 391 on the BSE on Wednesday.
