Stock markets will be closed on Wednesday, December 25 on account of Christmas. Accordingly, all the segments including, the equity segment, derivative segment, and SLB segment will be closed.

The multi-commodity exchange will also be closed for both morning and evening sessions.


In the next calendar year, the markets will have 14 trading holidays against 16 in the current calendar year, according to the NSE and BSE holiday calendars.

Additionally, the months of February, May, November, and December each feature one holiday, while March and August include two holidays each. April and October will witness three trading holidays each.


The next trading holiday will be on Wednesday, February 26 on account of Mahashivratri.

It is also important to note that certain holidays coincide with weekends in 2025, such as Republic Day on January 26, Shri Ram Navami on April 6, and Muharram on July 6, all falling on Sundays, and Bakri Id on Saturday, June 7.Investors and traders take note of these dates to plan their trading activities accordingly. Domestic indices witnessed positive sentiment in today’s session as the 30-component index Sensex was trading at 78,714, which was higher by 0.22% or 167 points, while the Nifty50 index was up by 0.22% or 53 points at 23,806.50 around 12 noon.

Sectorally, Nifty Auto, FMCG, IT, Pharma, Realty, Healthcare, Consumer Durables, and Oil & Gas were trading in the green while Nifty Bank, Financial Services, Media and Metal were trading in red around the same time.
