F&O Ban List: Bandhan Bank, SAIL among 7 stocks under trade ban on Friday

Seven stocks are under F&O trade ban on Friday viz. Bandhan Bank, Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals, Granules India, Hindustan Copper, Manappuram Finance, National Aluminium Company, NMDC, PVR Inox, RBL Bank and Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

The Future & Options contracts of any stock enter the ban period when the open interest (OI) on it crosses 95% of the market wide positions limits or MWPL. The ban on it is reversed only if the open interest falls below 80%.


Traders who trade in index do not encounter a situation of security ban.

The MWPL for Bandhan Bank stood at 92.3% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 83 million. It was down by 2.4% from the previous session.


The MWPL for Granules India stood at 91.2% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 14.9 million. It was down 2.7% from the previous session.

Hindustan Copper reported MWPL at 88.6% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 38.2 million. It was down by 0.9% from the previous session.The MWPL for Manappuram Finance stood at 90.5% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 51.5 million. It was down 3.1% from the previous session.The MWPL for NMDC stood at 88.9% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 63 million. It was down 6% from the previous session.

For PVR Inox, the MWPL stood at 82.3% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 3.7 million. It was down 3.3% from the previous session.

The MWPL for SAIL stood at 84.2% on Thursday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 139 million. It was down 2.2% from the previous session.

Indian benchmark indices fell sharply today (Thursday, December 19) not taking kindly to the hawkish commentary by the US Fed on Wednesday. IT stocks were the ones most hit followed by banks and financials. The 30-stock S&P BSE Sensex finished at 79,218.05, declining by 964.15 points or 1.20% while the Nifty50 settled at 23,951.70, falling by 247.15 points or 1.02%
